First Alternative Music TV Channel A-ONE aired for the first time on the 1st of August, 2005, on the Eutelsat W4 satellite. From the first days of its existence, the channel demonstrated to be a non-standard, unique and promising music project. Today A-ONE is broadcasted on two satellites (Eutelsat W4 и LMI-1), via cable and on the air, via Internet and mobile networks.

The first Alternative Music TV channel A-ONE broadcasts 10 programs of its own make, such as “MISHANINA” with Mikhail Kozyrev, “BOLSHAYA RYBA” with Yury Grimov, OLD SCHOOL with Rita Mitrofanova, URBANA with V.J. Chen, legendary “SVEZHAK”, the cult “JIVAGA”, the always topical A-ONE NEWS and the stellar “ZVEZDOCHAT”. The technical audience of the channel constitutes over 50 million people in 65 Regions of the Russian Federation. Currently, A-ONE makes part of over 800 cable service providers’ plans in the cities of Russia, CIS and Baltic countries.In 2008, the “First Alternative Music TV Channel A1” began broadcasting in Ukraine as a version of A-ONE adjusted to Ukrainian laws. The concept of the channel remains the same. The channel representative office opened as well in Belarus in 2008. The partnership of the A-ONE TV channel with the biggest cable network in Saint-Petersburg – TKT brought 3.5 million viewers to the First Alternative in the Northern Capital, which can be compared to the technical audience of federal TV channels. |
In 2005, the First Alternative Music Channel A-ONE established its own award in alternative rock music - RAMP (Rock Alternative Music Prize ).
The headliners of the award at different time were such musicians as KORN, Stone Sour, UNKLE, Marilyn Manson and Klaxons. The First Alternative Music TV channel A-ONE is organising concerts of world alternative stage stars in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg. During its existence, the A-ONE brought to Russia such musicians as Linkin Park, Apocalyptica, Tricky, The Roots and others.
